Find us in Training Magazine

Training Mag recently featured our service in their September/October 2017 edition of Tech Talk. Employers that need to verify that workers are doing only jobs they’re trained for have a new solution with Credential Verification Service’s new verification wristbands. Each silicone wristband is stamped with a unique QR code. When the durable wristband is scanned with a smartphone or tablet, the employee’s [...]

The Importance of Standardized Names

Whenever you manage a complex data base, with thousands of data records, you will certainly encounter the "nomenclature" problem. This is the need to have a naming convention for calling things by standardized names. As a simple example, the titles "Assistant Foreman", "Asst Foreman", and "ASSIST. FOREMAN" may all mean exactly the same thing. But these three terms will look [...]

Guidance on Choosing the best QR Code Reader

Clients often ask us our recommendation for the best QR Code Reader app. For years, we have recommended i-nigma, which is free and available on all platforms. Technology and Your ID Badge

At the heart of the CVS service are the credit card-style badges. These badges (if you are not already aware) are printed by InstantCard—America's leading cloud-based ID card service. InstantCard is passionate about using technology to efficiently enhance ID cards. This is, in fact, how CVS was born. So, of course, it behooves us to share InstantCard's most recent [...]

Request a FREE Sample CVS ID Card

Somehow, in our excitement over redesigning our website, we eliminated the page allowing you to request a free sample ID card. This was a gross oversight—The plastic ID badges are the heart of the Credential Verification Service. And, giving you the chance to see how durable, professional, and pretty they are is very important to us. (Did we mention they're [...]

Print Flyer

Recently, we had cause to design a new flyer advertising the Credential Verification Service. Designing such a print ad was not an easy task—how does one effectively convey the capabilities of the system while also illustrating how simple it is to use? Furthermore, no one wants to read too much text—what's a good balance between graphical content and text copy? [...]

Announcing the “Emergency Information” Option

We're pleased to announce that we've added a significant new safety feature, available for all CVS users. We've added an "Emergency Information" button which appears right below the employee's profile information, whenever the QR code is scanned.  This is designed to immediately display exactly the information that an EMT or Emergency Responder would need to see in case of an accident.  After [...]

You’re making my job more difficult.

... and it's a good thing. We're in the process of redeveloping the Credential Verification Service user interface (UI). While our current UI works great, we're constantly trying to make your job all the easier by streamlining how you interact with the service. I am the one who is charged with some of the initial ideas for the UI. So, [...]

How does CVS handle seasonal or temporary employees?

The Credential Verification Service has an "active" flag for each employee.  All employees default to "active" status.  However, at any time, employee's status can be switched to "inactive".  This does not delete any data in the data base.  However, when such an employee's card is scanned, the message "Employee not active in the CVS System" will be displayed.  No billing [...]
